Purple and gold are more typically autumn colors here than the northeastern/northern reds, oranges, and yellows. This is a combo I’ve never seen, but it suits the season perfectly.
It was a lucky combo – when planting a bag of mixed bulbs you never know what will appear. Lucky also, because I had totally forgot that I planted a few in this particular spot – the bulbs were a late spring gift from a neighbour who had too many!
