So pretty! Yesterday, I saw one of our bigleaf magnolias (Magnolia macrophylla ) in a woods. It’s leaves are three feet long and a foot wide, and it begins blooming after the leaves have appeared. I spotted a couple of flowers, but couldn’t photograph them because they were many feet off the ground, and mostly hidden by those big leaves. Your flowers are not only attractive, they’re more approachable!
That’s a big leaf! I have a Magnolia tripetala, started from seed; it also has large leaves (about half the size of a bigleaf) and high flowers…fabulous to see from a bit of distance.

That has wide petals for a Magnolia stellata, almost comparable to Magnolia lennei ‘Alba’.

It’s a Merril Magnolia, which is a cross between stellata and something else…
