In a Vase, On Monday – Tulip Time

My first attempt at a vase of tulips looked a bit flat. The tulips were gorgeous, yes, but something felt missing, so I went back into the garden and snipped a few long pieces of garden chives (Allium schoenoprasum), a single leaf from a Lupine plus several tall Summer Snowflake (Leucojum aestivum). The graceful, delicate, nodding flowers of the latter add some dignity to the roughness of the vase, I think, as well as beauty, and I hope it’s a fitting tribute to Cathy’s sister Janet. Cathy hosts a weekly gardening meme on her site, Rambling in the Garden, where she she encourages gardeners around the world to bring a bit of the beauty from the natural world indoors.

  1. This is so lovely Chris. The tulips would have been gorgeous on their own too, but you have made them stand out by adding a bit of height. 😃
