I had to do a double and triple take to convince my eyes that I wasn’t seeing persimmons. The effect of seeing these fruits against bare branches is just as lovely!
This comment made me question my assumption about persimmons being more tropical so I looked it up, and, lo and behold, they will grow in Ontario! Smaller fruit than the Asian kaki variety, but just as sweet and, more importantly, frost tolerant!
The tree in my photos is, however, definitely apple 😊
