They’re beautiful. I’ve only seen a little patch or two of the sort that have bits of green on their petals. I just learned they’re called snowflakes rather than snowdrops: snowdropsare Galanthus nivalis, while the snowflakes are Leucojum aestivum. It must be wonderful to see these popping up, but it seems they’re right on time!
And of course Leucojum are much, much taller – I have patches of them, blooming here mid to late spring. So graceful! To me, their flowers look like Lily of the Valley, minus the fragrance, unfortunately.
But every year, seeing these Galanthus blooming in February, poking up thru dead leaves….pure joy!
So cheering to see.

that’s a blissful find! I’ve looked…but don’t expect to see them for another 2 weeks (south of Boston).

Well…you’ve had a lot more snow than we’ve had, I think, this year. But even here, each patch emerges at its own speed. Full bloom not until April…
