  1. G o r g e o u s ! ! I had a huge bulb, planted beginning of December….was next to the kitchen sink, so fun to watch growing…then…one by one 4 pink ‘Apple Blossoms’ appeared. I always cut the stem down to an inch above the leaves, after blooming, but very recently read to only take the finished-blooming flowers off & leave the stem, to return nourishment back to the bulb. Plant in the garden during the summer.

    1. I doubt leaving the stem is necessary given the size of leaves that follow the flowers eh? And so ugly! I used to plant in the garden in late May but slugs seems to like the leaves…so now keep them in their pot, adding a bit of compost, on the back porch all summer. Seems to work!

  2. Your photos are not only gorgeous, they remind me of my mother. She managed to turn her annual Christmas amaryllises into something like twenty-seven plants that all bloomed — she could get those things to multiply like she was giving them the sort of “or else!” order she used to give me!
