(This is supposed to be a silent post, but let me whisper how much I love this dwarf bearded Iris. I’ve featured it several times over the years but can’t resists sharing again.)
It’s around eight inches I’d say…so needs to be planted at the very front of the garden. Although I must say that, like all bearded Iris I’ve grown, the rhizomes will spread quite readily and I imagine a largish patch of them would make quite an impact for a few weeks this time of year.
A B e a u t y ! Irises really are especially gorgeous.

The combination of colors and the diminuitive size really are appealing. How tall does it get? My guess is under twelve inches.

So unusual – and the lighting in your photo seems perfect for catching its particular moody beauty.
