There are leaf buds on both my lilac & wisteria – noticed them a few weeks ago.

The color of the buds is so striking. As they open, will the leaves be reddish for a time?
No not at all…the reddish bits fall away as gorgeous bright green palmate leaves emerge and expand…they’re really beautiful, like humungous Lupine leaves.
