A pretty flower and unique leaf pattern, but those stolons sure can run, can’t they? They pretty much took over the bed I put them in. I’ve had to rethink my use of them as a garden plant. They’ve been relegated to the wood edge!

They do form huge colonies – but for me very welcome, naturally occurring, as you say, in open woodlands or at the edges, by the road. Unfortunately they shade out everything else so that when the foliage dies back mid to late summer it’s just bare soil…
