Is that really ice in the foreground? I would have thought it was only sand. Together with the sky, it certainly says ‘winter!’
It is ice! I’m guessing that the Christmas blizzard churned up the lake water so much there was an extraordinary amount of sand mixed in.
Makes sense. The waters along our Gulf-facing beaches always contain large amounts of sand, just because of wave action.
