such a beautiful photo of an amazing flower
😊😊😊
Lovely bleeding hearts. And your photos from yesterday were inspiring, Chris.
Thanks Jan!!! Stay dry today!!!!
So, the taxonomists have been at it again, eh? Or did you discover the true identity of yours? I did look at some maps, and discovered that there are native Dicentra species, but Lamprocapnos is non-native. Since they’re all known as bleeding hearts, I’ll just admire them, call them that, and not worry about it!
It’s those danged taxonomists! I grew up calling these Dicentra spectabilis, and they’re very common in old gardens here, but they are definitely different from the native Dicentra.
And they chose a tough one to remember, too!
LOL! Boy did they ever!!
Delicate beauty. Thank you!
Beautiful. But in my heart it will always be Dicentra! (Most of our nurseries still use the old name. 👍)
A lot of ours do as well! And SO much easier to remember and say.
