Yes, there’s a bridge over a very large culvert connecting this stream to a large marsh on the other side. We’re expecting rain and double digit temperatures this coming week…I expect most of this snow and ice will disappear quickly.
The sound of a melt — flowing rivulets, dripping icicles, drops plunking onto metal — is one I still can remember. It’s interesting that snowfall itself is so silent, but the wind that brings it and the warmth that melts it create lingering aural memories.
