Our southern magnolias, with their dinner plate sized leaves, are fragrant and impressive, but I do enjoy trees like these, that produce their flowers first. They’re just so beautiful on those empty stems — as are the buds. LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes I agree…I have an umbrella Magnolia, which flowers after the (huge) leaves, and generally catch me by surprise. LikeLiked by 1 person
