The yard is both dotted and swathed in various shades of yellow as daffodils and dandelions compete for attention – for totally different reasons – as they strive to make up for the late start to spring. Bees have unburrowed as well – I noticed many large bumblebee types buzzing around both Muscari and diving into the trumpets of these ‘Jetfire’ cyclamineus narcissus:
The other daffodil in today’s vase is ‘Ice Follies;’ they’re joined by a few Hyacinth which as well as adding colour adds its distinctive fragrance, infusing the house with the smell of spring.

The bee’s favourite Muscari are the M. latifolium:
Thanks to Cathy at Rambling in the Garden who hosts the weekly garden meme In A Vase On Monday, featuring flowers from our gardens. Happy Monday everyone!

So lovely. What a payoff your garden is – and your blog.

Many days it does indeed feel like that!
I truly love bumble bees, and that photo of the bee butt sticking out of the flower is perfect! I really like the ‘Ice Follies’ daffodil, too. It’s not only pretty, it makes me think of lemon meringue pie.
Now I’m hungry for lemon meringue…😁
Happy Spring at last!
It was 20 degrees yesterday!!!! (60 f)
👏🏼
Spring bulbs of any sort are great for vases, aren’t they? I am glad you are able to enjoy yours now that spring has arrived for you. Thanks for sharing your treasures today
Lovely spring vase! Here daffs and hyacinths are a thing of the past. Where are you based?
Is that hyacinth on the right ‘Woodstock’?
That’s a happy mix – for you and the bees! I always smile when I see bee butts hanging from tubular flowers.

Love the vintage? vases, Chris and the flowers.
Thanks!
Lovely daffs and bees and I really like the way you have put those Muscari in that vase. 😃 Is it a new vase Chris?
I found it last summer but have only used it once before, I think… I love it too!
All beauties, Chris. Happy Spring.
