There’s a dozen or so daffodil varieties blooming right now in my garden, with two still to come. I’ve been bringing bouquets to friends this past week but thought I’d keep this one on the dining room table. I know a few of their names – Tahiti, King Alfred, Thalia, Ice Follies and the diminutive but highly fragrant Quail.

A luscious mix of daffodils. Thalia is one of my favorites although your others surely catch the attention. Great time of year, isn’t it.
It’s a marvelous time of year!!! Not too cold, not too hot…and the garden is leaping up around us all!
Splendiferous! I love the mix of colors, and the varied levels of frilliness. Here’s a question from someone who’s never seen these — are they fragrant?
Some of them are very fragrant (the small yellow Quail- only need one or two in a vase to fill the room) and some slightly fragrant and some not at all. The differences are really interesting…just like the differences in petal and cup shape, colour and size.
Wow! So many! And what a wonderful mix of colours and types. How lovely to have enough to pick constantly for vases! 😁
For about three weeks, maybe four, daffodils could fill many vases!

‘King Alfred’ is still the King! It is probably the most reliable for naturalizing (here). It has become uncommon, though.
When you have that many delicious daffodils, you don’t need anything else!

They do need some companionship, don’t they? I have the occasional daff appearing all by itself and they look so lonely!
