Cathy lives on a mountainside in Germany, and to help chase away the cold and perhaps snowy and grey December doldrums she hosts seven days of colour to remind us of the beauty from the past spring and summer. I looked for a flower photo that I hadn’t yet shared and came across the lovely soft blue of a Muscari that was making its first appearance in my garden.

Those are exceptionally pretty Muscari!

What a pretty blue! Muscari and daffodils do seem like a long way off right now – lovely to be reminded they will be back next year. 😁

The nice thing about some Muscari is how they send up leaves in the fall.

Muscari don’t usually make my heart sing, but the gradations in color in these is utterly lovely. They remind me of our sandyland bluebonnets: a species that provides a similar combination of chalky blue and white.

I love the gradient of blue, I’ve never seen Muscari that do that. So soft and pretty!

A lot softer than the more common darker blue Muscari eh?
